Njogu Demba’s OB are set to take on Nordsjælland in the 8th finals of the Danish National cup on Thursday.

The super league side, who have suffered three clear defeats in a row including a 4-2 beating by the Young Boys of Switzerland in the UEFA Europa league match last Thursday, are faced with the task of ending a winless run starting with the national cup, which is closely being contested by elite teams in Denmark.

The 2009/10 Danish vice champions fell 2-1 to SønderjyskE on Monday night, to land themselves on 6th position and 17points on the table.

Gambia international Njogu Demba-Nyrén, brought in as the third striker in Monday’s game, came close to writing his name on the score list for this season in the super liga.

The 31-year-old striker, who has so far made seven appearances for OB this season, sent a true volley away from the goal.

The National cup is one of the four titles up for contest in the Danish League.

OB, who have renewed their target  to win laurels for the club this season, are greatly eyeing the National cup, according to team officials quoted on the club’s website.
