Demba Kunda FC and Old Hands/Kulari FC have made it into the quarterfinals stage of the third edition of the ongoing annual Dynamic Sarahuleh Association for Changes and Development tournament.
Demba Kunda on 13 March 2013 beat Old Hands/Kulari by 2-1 but despite the defeat Old Hands/Kulari have also qualified for the quarterfinals after finishing second in the group with 7 points from 4 encounters, 3 points behind Demba Kunda FC who finished as group leaders with 10 points in 4 games.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, Haji Kusa Touray, head coach of Demba Kunda, said they did not come to the game to give their best because they are already qualified for the quarterfinals coming into the game.
Touray, who have guided his side to the finals of the past two editions of the competition, stated that his target is to win the trophy for the second time in three years.
Their performance in the tournament is very good, he said, adding that he has players that can perform well.
The venue for this year’s edition is not very favourable for his fans, which is why they are not coming out in their large numbers to support the team, he said.
Alieu Bah, head coach of Old Hands/Kulari, said he was not disappointed by the win because their aim was just to collect a point in the game to top the group.
He said they had chances during the game to win, especially in the first period, but they were still satisfied qualifying for the quarterfinals.
He said their primary target was to qualify for the quarterfinals, adding that now that they have achieved it they would fight to qualify for the semi-finals and possibly the finals.
