One Mustapha Jallow, a businessman and a resident of NemaKunku village, was recently cross-examined in the ongoing obtaining money by false pretence case involving one Idrissa Manneh, a Senegalese national, at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Isatou Janneh.

Under cross-examination, the witness told the court the accused was his friend, whom he had known him for a long time.

He denied knowing the accused was a wanted man in Senegal, although he was aware the accused was convicted in Senegal.

He said he was not there when the accused was allegedly collecting money from the complainant in the sum of D41,000.

Asked whether he would like to see his friend being punished by the law, he replied he would not like to see his friend being punished by the law, but if he had committed an offence, the law could take its course.
