Defense counsel Ouzuma yesterday filed a defence address in the alleged theft case involving Alhaji Foday Barry, former director of intelligence and investigation at the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA), at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Principal Hilary Abeke.

When the case was called, the defense counsel told the court that the case was set for address, and that they had filed it to the court, adding that it was for the prosecution to reply on points of law.

In response, the prosecuting officer, Sub-inspector Manga, stated that the defence should have filed their brief some 15 days ago, and that he was just served with the defence brief by the counsel, and needed time to reply on points of law.

He then asked for a fortnight for the prosecution to reply.

The case was adjourned till 9 December 2013, for adoption of briefs.
