Reports reaching this paper have revealed that a dead body was found at Brufut beach in Kombo North, Western Region.
When contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force, Superintendent Sulayman Secka confirmed the story as true.
According to him, the body was discovered on Sunday 3rd January 2010. Since then, he added, the body has been lying at the mortuary at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul for public viewing and identification.
The decease was subsequently identified as one Ebrima Sarr, a native of Jonwarr in Senegal. According to the police PRO, the deceased was identified by one Shehu Ndong, a brother.
He further revealed that it was just yesterday when the body was also identified by family members. There was no information about the cause of death but observers have stated that he might have died in the sea.
