Culture secure win in East Nawetan

Culture FC on Sunday 23 August 2015 beat Latrikunda United by a goal to nil in the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation Nawetan competition.

Bara Secka was the hero for Culture FC scoring the only goal of the game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium in the 63rd minute of the game to give them the maximum points.

Earlier on Saturday 22 August 2015, Super Cup champions Blue Star FC beat United Stars FC by a lone goal.

Bakary Jatta registered the only goal of the 3pm encounter for the Wellingara-based outfit.

In the 5pm kick-off of the same day, Zurich FC hammered Old Hands FC 3-1.

Meanwhile, on Friday 21 August 2015, Ebbeh Gii FC lost to Manchester United 4-3 at the East Park.

Manchester United had to come from behind four times to upset Ebbeh Gii FC, who also lost their opening game of the tournament.

Modou Darboe opened the score-line for Ebbeh Gii FC 8 minutes into the game but Sam Jarju levelled proceedings for Manchester United 11 minutes later.

It took Ebbeh Gii FC only 2 minutes to retake the lead through Tambou Sanneh but Ismaila Badjie will go on to level the scores for Manchester United in the 28th minute.

Abdoulie Manga again scored for Ebbeh Gii FC in the 47th minute to give his side a 3-2 lead from a dramatic free-kick.

Ebbeh Gii FC were reduced to 10 men in the 50th minute of the game following Modou Darboe’s sending off.

With 80 minutes of the clock, Ebrima Ceesay made it 3-all for Manchester United.

Alassan Jarju sealed the victory for Manchester United in the final minutes of the game.

With the game at stoppage time, Ebbeh Gii FC who suffered two defeats in a row - which ended their hopes of progressing to the next stage of the competition, attacked the match officials together with their fans resulting in the fourth official sustaining an injury on his head.
