A day-long wrestling contest which was organised by Sareh Nyaga Jalubeh youths, in collaboration with the Alkalo of the village Pierre Bah, and has brought together different contestants in CRR recently wrapped-up in Sareh Nyaga Jallubeh.
The wrestling contest which was meant to foster unity and understanding among the people of CRR attracted interest from villages, such as Kassu Wollof, Ndowen Nyun ba, Toro, Mbayur, Jambury, Jallow Kunda, Njoben, Sareh Sibi, Tumani Fatty, Changai, To Porti, Masembeh, Kuo and Sareh Ngai.
Two brothers from Jallow Kunda emerged the champions while Ndowen's Mbarass and Dubaless make up the second place, and the third place was occupied by Nyanija.
The ultimate objective of the wrestling contest, according to the Alkalo of the village, Pierre Bah is in line with the President Jammeh's initiative whom, he said, has played a pivotal role in his efforts to reverse wrestling so that it can regain its past glory in the country.
"We are emulating the initiative of our dynamic leader President Jammeh whose contribution to the promotion and development of sports in the country cannot be over- emphasised," the elated Alkalo told Pointsport.
And this, he believed will go a long way in trying to maintain peace and unity among the contestants that took part in the wrestling contest.
Certificates were also awarded to all the participants in a form of compensation at the end of the contest.
