According to official sources, two senior police officers have been appointed to the position of Crime Management Co-ordinator and head of Serious Crime Unit with effect from Friday, May 2nd 2008. Commissioner Essa Badjie, alias Jesus, and Superintendent Tumani Sanyang have been appointed as Crime Management Co-ordinator and head of Serious Crimes Unit of GPF respectively.
According to our sources, Commissioner Essa Badjie now replaces Burama Dibba, whiles Superintendent Tumani Sanyang replaces Ebrima Kungi Jammeh.
These replacements follow the yet unexplained arrest last Wednesday of both Burama Dibba and Ebrima Kungi Jammeh, who are still reported to be under detention at Mile 2 prisons.
Prior to this new appointment, Commissioner Essa Badjie was the Commissioner of Police for Western Region whiles Superintendent Tumani Sanyang was serving as Officer Commanding at CID Kanifing Division.
