The Gambia Cricket national team, dissolved in October last year for its poor performances over the years, will be engaged in a trial for the recruitment of yet another team ahead of an ICC Division 3 outing in January.
The executive board of the Gambia Cricket Association headed by Johnny Gomez, who took the firm step to dissolve the Senior National Cricket team following what could be described as an unconvincing performance, has stated that the trial and selection of the team is set for November.
The trial and selection of the team will allow the cricket association to make a fresh selection of players from the national five-team cricket league and blend them with the upcoming ones for the future of the national cricket.
The ICC Division 3 January competition will be contested among 6 countries: The Gambia, Mali, Morocco, Cameroon, Rwanda and Lesotho, and will be played in 20 overs.
