Magistrate Isatou Janneh of the Kanifing
Magistrates’ Court on 19 January 2016 revoked the bail of Basiru Ceesay, an
accused person, who was charged with office breaking, stealing and escaping
from lawful custody on two occasions.
This followed the application made by prosecutor Mendy for the accused’s bail to be revoked.
He said the accused failed to appear in court on four occasions.
His application was granted by the court, and the magistrate said the accused should be arrested and remanded in custody.
The case was adjourned till 2 February 2016.
In another development, one Alfusainey Barry, who was charged with conspiracy and stealing, is also to be arrested by the police.
It was prosecutor Mendy who applied to the court for the accused person to be arrested for his failure to appear in court.
Magistrate Isatou Janneh granted the application for the accused to be issued with a bench warrant.
The case was adjourned till 2 February 2016.
