The court further ordered that it should be published and announced daily in the English language and all the major languages for a period of fifteen days, for the accused person to be aware that a charge had been preferred against him, and for him to appear before the court, failure to do which the matter would continue and be determined in his absence.
The court order followed the application made by the Director of Public Prosecutions, S.H. Barkun, for the name of the 1st accused, Abdoulie Tamba, to be published in the newspaper, preferably Observer Newspaper in order to secure the appearance of the accused person.
The case was then adjourned to 15 October 2012, for mention.
The accused person, Abdoulie Tamba, former AMRC managing Director, was charged with committing economic crimes, alongside Abdoulie Dibba and Yusupha Jaiteh, both AMRC employees.
They were first arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court, and the case was later transferred to the high court in Banjul.
