Cosmo Airline last Saturday touched down at Banjul International Airport as part of this year’s tourist season.
Officials from the ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Gambia Tourism Board were at the airport to witness the arrival of the flight.
Speaking shortly after the landing of the airline, Modou Joof, acting permanent secretary of the ministry of Tourism and Culture, said they where happy to receive the airline in the country.
He added that this was another plus to this year’s tourist season, as well as support to the destination.
“We value very much our collaboration with this airline, as the problem of air access from Barcelona to Banjul is now resolved,” he said.
Kassim Njie, Gambia’s consul general to Barcelona thanked the government of the Gambia and the ministry of Tourism and Culture for their support.
He called on the ministry to make more efforts to sustain this project, adding that they need support from the ministry of Tourism.
Jeronimo and Romon Ferre, senior executive of Cosmo Airline, said they are very much happy to be in Banjul.
The Cosmo airline officials thanked the ministry of Tourism for giving them facilities, while assuring the ministry their continuous support.
