Complainant Application granted

Omar Sonko, Sunkary Jarju and Alfusainey Ceesay were on Thursday 19th March 2009 arraigned before Brikama Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh on two counts of stealing and receiving stolen property.

On count 1, Omar Sonko, in the month of September 2008 at Brikama, in Kombo North, the accused stole two packets of tiles valued D700 (Seven hundred dalasis) each being the property of Sheriff Sonko.

Count 2, accused persons Sunkary Jarju and Alfusaine Ceesay in the same month and year at Brikama, the said accused persons were alleged to have received two packets of tiles from Omar Sonko valued D700 each, knowing or having reason to believe that the said item were stolen.

When the charge sheet was read and interpreted to them in the language they claim to understand they pleaded guilty.

The complainant Sheriff Sonko applied to withdraw the matter out of count, because one of the accused Omar Sonko is his own blood. The court granted the application.
