The defending league and super cup champions, Commit FC, maintained their superb run of form in the ongoing Gunjur Nawetan Championship, following their hard fought 2-1 victory over embattled Santos United FC in a group A game played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Wednesday.
Commit FC goals were registered by Kebba Touray alias Kebberino in 25th and dying minutes of the game respectively, to give their side their second consecutive victory in the new Nawetan season.
Santos United FC fought back, and pulled back one through midfielder Mbarika Touray in the 35th minute of the game, but this proved to be a consolation goal for Santos United FC, and their 2-1 loss to Commit FC is their second defeat in the season.
Mighty Gamcel FC were held to a goalless draw by struggling Asselem FC side in a tightly contested game in group D on Tuesday.
Commit FC is currently leading group A with 7 points in three games, Santos United FC are in 3rd position in group A with 3 points in three games, Gamcel FC are leading group D with 4 points in two games, while Asselem is in 4th position in group D with a single point in two outings.
