Comium, a GSM operator in The Gambia, yesterday donated 20 bicycles to the Gambia Cycling Association (GCA).
The donation was part of Comium’s contribution towards the development of sport in the country, particularly cycling.
Speaking to reporters at the presentation ceremony held at Comium’s head office on Kairaba Avenue, the assistant secretary general of the GCA, Edrissa Sah, applauded Comium for donating the bicycles to the association, adding that the donated items would go a long way in promoting cycling, as well as motivating cyclists, in the country.
Sah said his association would work closely with the Gambia government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports to develop cycling in the country.
He stated that his association alone cannot support cycling in the country; therefore companies and individuals can also come forward to render support to the development of the sport in the country.
