Football Gambia, a charitable organisation based in the UK, recently organised a daylong coaching course for Nawettan coaches at the Gunjur playground, as part of its drive towards promoting the development of football in the country.

The course, meant to equip participants with modern skills and techniques in coaching, brought together 18 young coaches that took part in the just ended Gunjur Nawettan league championship.

Speaking at the ceremony, Buba Bada Bojang, president of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) and chairman of Kombo South District Sports Committee (KSDSC), applauded Football Gambia for organising the course.

Bojang, who described the course as “timely”, said it would go a long way in equipping coaches with new skills and techniques in modern coaching.

The public relations officer of GYSDA, Lamin Demba, urged the participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the training.

Demba told the participants to share the knowledge gained from the course with colleagues and members of their clubs.

He also thanked Football Gambia for organising the training, saying it would improve the skills of young coaches in Gunjur.
