Charles Jow Memorial Academy (CJMA), Friday received a donation of school furniture, including tables, chairs and books worth D500,000 from RC Cleveland through the Rotary Club of Brusubi.
Essa Sowe, chairman of the school’s board directors, said
the donation will help them as they are expanding with a target of 10 more
classrooms. He said the donation will help address that challenges.
“We are not only focus on building structures in the school
but we need quality education. With these tables and chairs, quality and
relevant education will be promoted.”
Jaja Cham, chief executive officer of Kanifing Municipal
Council said a lot of effort was applied to place the school among the top in
the country, while thanking the donors for their kind gesture to promote
quality education and change the life of the people in the country.
Musa Badjie, a member of the school’s education committee,
said to develop the country’s education system, quality education must be
promoted, addinh that requires the efforts of everyone and not only the central
government and local councils.
Fatou Gassama, president of Rotary Club of Brusubi,
expressed delight on the activities of the club towards the development of
schools. She said the club expects to see the maximal use of the equipment in
order to promote a productive and conducive learning environment.
She promised the school management that the institution will
enjoy a lot from the Club if they maintain proper management of the donated
equipment.
