Principal Magistrate Effim of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced Bakary Jallow and Beji Jallow, to a fine of D5, 000 each in default to serve one year in prison each for admitting stealing the cattle.
According to the facts of the case as narrated by the police prosecutor, Sub-Inspector Jammeh, it happened in the month of August 2009, when the first convict gave two cattle to the second convict to sell.
He narrated further that when the complainant got the information that some of his cattle were stolen he reported the matter to the Old Yundum Police Station.
Still narrating the Sub-Inspector told the court that during investigation, one Falu Bah was arrested who told the police that, the cattle was given to him by the second convict.
He said the second convict was also arrested and confessed that the cattle were stolen from the herd man of the first convict's father.
