Cattle Rustler Gets 10 Years' Imprisonment

A man was last Thursday, 18th June 2009, convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to commit felony and cattle stealing.

Modou Bah pleaded guilty to the charges.

He was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison, with hard labour on each count.

Modou Bah told the crowded court that while at his compound sometime in 2005, the first accused person; one Amadou Kah came to spend the night with him.

According to him, Amadou Kah had spent two days with him after which, Momodou Dem, the third accused person joined them.

He adduced that Amadou Kah informed them that on his way to his compound he saw a cow somewhere and told them that they should go for it. He said the following day, around 9 p.m. they decided to go in for it and succeeded in slaughtering the cow.
