One Ebrima Samba, a cattle rustler was last Saturday convicted and sentenced to a fine of D1500, in default to serve five months in prison for stealing a goat.
The convict was said to have stolen a goat at Busumbala, valued at D1000, being the property of one Kemba Jaffneh.
The convict, who initially denied the charge, later admitted following the testimony of the prosecution first witness, saying that" all what PW1 said was the truth".
In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate stated that, in view of the accused own plea of guilt, the court had come to the conclusion that the prosecution has established their case against the convict, and consequently convicted and sentenced him.
The convict, in his plea of mitigation, begged the court for forgiveness, saying that he is a married man and that his wife is pregnant.
