Despite his side’s 1-0 defeat to Gamtel in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifiers at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium at the weekend, Cassa Sport head coach Demba Aramatta N’daye is confident that his team will defeat Gamtel in the return leg of the preliminary qualifiers and qualify to the next round of the competition.

Coach N’daye made these remarks in an exclusive interview with reporters shortly after the game.

He said his club will prepare very well for the return leg, as a victory against Gamtel in the return leg will help them to stay in the competition.

He added that the game was not an easy one, as Cassa could have won the encounter considering the chances they created but failed to make good use of them.

In the weekend Banjul encounter, Gamtel opened the score through midfielder Modou Sarr in the 72nd minute of the game from Saja Jarjusey’s cross to give his side the lead.

The good performance and success made Gamtel’s head Coach Tapha Manneh impressed with his boys.

He says the most important thing in football is victory and he was made prouder that his team didn’t concede any goal at home.

According to him, Cassa Sport have been a thorn in the flesh of Gamtel and have beaten them on two occasions.

Cassa Sport will now host Gamtel in the return leg in a fortnight’s time in Dakar.
