The alleged criminal case of obtaining money by false pretence involving one Kebba Jaiteh was recently heard at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Babucarr Secka.
According to the charge sheet, in 2010 at Brikama in the West Coast Region, the accused person, Kebba Jaiteh, obtained D73,300 from one Bintou Jabbi, with the pretext of giving her a piece of land, which he knew was false.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was granted court bail of D100,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit a valid ID card.
The case was adjourned to 9 June 2011.
