The country’s premier league sports association, Brikama Youth and Sports Association, on Sunday presented the 2013-2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league champions Bombada United to football fans in Brikama, at a colourful ceremony held at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Bombada United were crowned champions of the country’s second tier in the 2013-2014 season following their stunning performance after missing promotion to the premier league to Wallidan and Banjul in their debut season in the second tier.
Bombada United made their debut in the second division in the 2012-2013 season in which they finished 3rd place. They will join fellow West Coast Region outfit Brikama United in the country’s premier tier in the 2014-2015 season.
It would be recalled that Bombada United were awarded with a giant trophy and cash prize of D75,000 as the GFF second division league champions after their astonishing performance in the 2013-2014 season.
The West Coast region outfit will be plying their trade in the country’s top flight football in the 2014-2015 seasons, in which they expect to win their games in grand style to stay in the top tier.
