Chimo United on Sunday defeated New Town United FC in a well-attended final tie played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to clinch the 2014-2015 Brikama annual summer biggest fiesta traditional curtain raiser title.
Chimo United opened the scoring through Modou Lamin Jatta in the 3rd minute of the game to give his side the lead before Sheikh Tijan Gibba in the 5th minute of the game dashed New Town’s hopes of coming back to their feet.
New Town fought back for an equaliser and came very close to leveling the tally on numerous occasions through Foday Trawally and Sulayman Ndure but squandered all their limited goal-scoring opportunities thus the game ended 2-0 in favour of Chimo United.
As champions, Chimo United were capped with a giant trophy, medals, and cash prize of D10,000, whilst New Town United received D5,000 as runners-up.
The Super Cup final marked the curtain raiser of the new nawetan season in Brikama.
