The executive committee of UDP in Busumbala has signalled that it may take action against National Assembly Member (NAM) of the Busumbala Constituency, Hon. Saikoubah Jarju, if he refuses to meet their demands.

The committee through its Chairman Kemo Ceesay, said that Hon. Jarju should consult the right political and developmental structures of his constituency before National Assembly sittings and give feedbacks to members of the constituency through those established structures after discussions in Parliament.

“Hon. Jarju should apologise to the leadership of UDP for going against the recent decision of the party national executive committee and recommit himself to programmes and activities of Busumbala Constituency in promoting and developing the political agenda of UDP amongst others.”

Chairman Ceesay was speaking during a press conference at  Busmbala yesterday, following the statement of UDP leader, Ousainou Darboe, urging President Barrow to honour Coalition Agreement by serving a three-year transition mandate. He accused Hon. Jarju of pursuing personal agenda at the parliament contrary to that of the UDP and the Busumbala Constituency, by voting for unnecessary supplementary appropriate bills and suspected bad policies that might not be in the interest of Busumbala Constituency and the entire Gambia.

He also accused the Hon. Jarju of refusing to recognise his current constituency executive.
