Bolong Jatta, the Alkalo of Busumbala village recently testified before the Brikama Magistrates' Court in the ongoing trial of one Mohammed Ceesay.
Testifying before magistrate Emmanuel Amadi, alkalo Jatta informed the court that, the complainant lends the accused the said piece of land for agricultural purpose only. He said as the accused was using the said land, a quarrel ensued between him and the complainant concerning the said land.
According to him, during the problem the accused came with a forged document and told the complainant that the alkalo sold the land in question to him. He said the matter was then reported to the Yundum Police Station, where he told them that his stamp and signature were forged by someone, who prepared the document for the accused.
He said the matter was later referred to the district tribunal and the accused was given a warning letter to leave the said land, but he refused.
