Burglar convicted

The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted one Malick Jallow upon his own plea of guilt of the charges of burglary and stealing.

Malick Jallow was fined D10,000 in default to serve two years in prison on count one and on count two he was fined D5,000 in default to serve one year in prison.

Both sentences are to run concurrently.

According to the particulars of offence on court one, on 3 October 2011, between the hours of 5 and 5:30 a.m, at Ya Ida’s Boutique, Latrikunda German, in the Kanifing Municipality, the convicted person, Malick Jallow, broke into the house of one Adu Lette Sey, with intent to commit a felony, that is to steal.

The charge sheet on count two stated that Jallow stole from the house of the said Adu Lette Sey the following: one black bag containing several items and one blue nylon bag also containing clothing materials, of a total value of D41,800.

The court also ordered that the recovered items be returned to the owner.
