Bun Njie is new National Sports Council chair

Bun Njie, former principal of Muslim Senior Secondary School and a seasoned sportsman has been appointed new chairman of the National Sports Council.

He replaces Alex Dacosta, the former chairman of the Interim Committee whose term has expired few months ago.

Speaking in a brief interview with Pointsport yesterday, Mr Njie who confirmed his appointment described it as a challenge, adding that he will continued from where the interim committee have stop.

"I will need the support of everyone to accomplish the task that lies ahead," he noted.

Elizabeth Bahoum, Director of National Records Service, Sheikh Teejan Faye, former Gambian international athlete and Ms Cecilia Jallow have also been nominated to serve as council members.
