Brufut Utd ambitious to pip SK East Bi to keep unbeaten run in 2nd division

 As Wallidan, Blue Star hope to recuperate

Brufut United are ambitious to beat Serrekunda East Bi to maintain their unbeaten run to recover in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division league season.

The Brufut-based outfit are set to play against Serrekunda East-based outfit in their week-three fixtures today, Thursday 24 November 2016, the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Wallidan and Blue Star are also hoping to bounce back in the second tier in contention for promotion to the top flight next season, after losing to Brufut United and Young Africans in their week-two fixtures last week.

Brufut United are unbeaten in two hectic fixtures in the country’s second tier after their goalless draw against Young Africans and 1-0 win over Wallidan in their two opening league matches, and will fight to beat Serrekunda East Bi to maintain their unbeaten record in the league campaign.

Serrekunda East Bi are yet to win in the second tier and lose their two opening league fixtures against Waa Banjul 1-0 and Interior 3-1, and hope to bounce back after losing their two opening league fixtures to move away from red zone.

Wallidan and Blue Star will be contending to bounce back after losing their two fixtures last week. They will be fighting to beat each other to stand in contention for promotion to the top flight next season.

The Blue boys and Wellingara will play against each other in the week-three fixtures at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, today.

Elsewhere, Interior will clash with Red Hawks in the other week-three fixtures at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

Interior are two points behind Red Hawks, who are currently topping the second division league. They will come all out to beat coach Modou Bah’s charges to increase their chances of regaining promotion to the top flight following their demotion to the second division a season ago, after their woeful performance in the top flight.

Red Hawks are currently leading the second division race after winning their two opening league fixtures against BK Milan 3-0 and Waa Banjul. They will compete to defeat Interior to maintain their hundred percent and unbeaten run in the second tier.
