The workshop gave potential applicants a better understanding of the application process and an opportunity to hear from Chevening Alumni who talked about their experiences in the UK and what it means to be an Alumni member.
Opening the workshop, UK Ambassador to the Gambia Colin Crorkin said: “Chevening Scholars are renowned for reaching positions of leadership in their own fields of expertise.”He further stated: “We currently have 2 scholars from Gambia in UK and a further 8 positions for this year - the successful applicants should be informed shortly.”
Every year the British Embassy sends Gambian students to the UK for a fully funded Masters Degree programme at a University of their choice.This year the British Embassy Banjul received an increased number of 8 scholarships allocated to The Gambia.
The successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to enrol into this prestigious global program me.
Applications for the 2016/2017 scholarship programme open on 3 August 2015.
