The Brikama Volleyball Team in the Western Region is looking set to stage a farewell volleyball match between sister volleyball teams, Serrekunda-East and Interior in appreciation and recognition of the valuable contribution rendered by their colleague Nyima Camara, who is leaving the country for the United States after three (3) years of valuable services to the Brikama Volleyball Team.
The highly-anticipating volleyball competition, which hoped to produce a spectacular farewell ceremony in honour of Nyima Camara, a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, according to the Head Coach of Brikama volleyball team, Pa Babucarr Barrow and one of the technical staff of Brikama volleyball team Samba Jallow is meant to recognise the significant contribution of their colleague whose contribution in the development of volleyball in the Western Region is described as unprecedented through her role as a coach, as well as a player during her three-year spell with them.
The tournament, the duo added, will be held on Sunday 31st January at the Gambia College campus in Brikama, featuring both male and female volleyball players, in a bid to say bye to Nyima Camara, who has devoted most of her time trying to help promote volleyball in the area since arriving in the country in 2008.
