Defending champions of the Gambia Inter-Secondary School Athletic Championship, the Gambia Senior Secondary School has vowed to retain their third successive athletics championship title for the 2010 session.

The school that staged the inter-house athletics competition last week as part of the warm-up ahead of the main event with barely a few months to go saw Agrey House (Red) emerged the champions with a total of 536 points, while Freeman House (Green) scored 426 points after securing the second place, and Crowther House (Yellow) registered 388 points. Foster House (Blue) secured the least points with 306 in the fourth position.

After describing the inter-schools championship a success, the Head of the school's department of physical education, Abdou Aziz Paul Victor Mendy, said their intention is to retain the title for the third time in a row.

The school's intention of retaining the title cannot be ruled out, given the fact that it has always produced and continued to produce outstanding athletes over the years.
