Brikama United on Sunday beat Bakau United 2-0 in the week seventeen fixtures played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to mount pressure on the 2014-2015 First-Eco Partners sponsored Gambia Football Federation division one league leaders, Gamtel.

The victory has earned the Sateyba boys 28 points in sixteen games, with a game in hand against Gambia Ports Authority and three points behind league leaders Gamtel, who have snatched 31 points in sixteen games.

The defeat left Bakau United at the bottom of the table, with 11 points in six games with a game in hand against Real de Banjul, and they are hoping to beat the city boys to grab the vital three points to boost their chances of staying in the top flight next season, and avoid relegation to the second tier.

Wallidan beat Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to improve their position in the league table, following their poor performance in the first round.

Real de Banjul beat Hawks on the same score line at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to bounce back in contention for the league title, after losing to league leaders Gamtel 1-0 in mid-week.

Elsewhere, Interior drew goalless with bottom placed Serrekunda United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
