A Brikama resident was recently convicted and sentenced to a fine of D5,000, in default to serve one year in prison, by the Brikama Magistrates' Court.
Ebrima Drammeh pleaded guilty before Magistrate Abeke for assault causing actual bodily harm.
According to the charge sheet, on 13 January 2011, at Brikama Gidda, the convicted person, Ebrima Drammeh, assaulted one Mansata Drammeh, by slapping her.
The prosecuting officer, Trawally, informed the court that the convicted person was not a first-time offender.
