WB injects $5M grant for IFMIS project

The Republic of the Gambia and the World Bank have signed an additional financing agreement for the expansion of the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS).

Under the agreement, the World Bank will provide grant financing of $5 million to The Gambia for the expansion of the IFMIS project, support to the Gambia Bureau of Statistics (GBoS) and the energy sector.

The agreement was signed in Washington during the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Kebba S. Touray, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, signed for The Gambia and Ms. Vera Songue, World Bank Country Director for The Gambia signed on behalf of the World Bank.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of The Gambia, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and senior officials of the World Bank country team.
