Brikama murder case reaches court

One Abdourahman Barry, a resident of Brikama Nyambai, was yesterday arraigned and charged with murder before the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.

According to the particulars of offence, Abdourahman Barry, sometime in October 2011, at Brikama Nyambai, West Coast Region, caused the death of one Sulayman Barry, by stabbing him with a knife and thereby committed an offence.

Defence counsel Ms Olieudma told the court that the accused is a lunatic and she had the mental certificate of the accused at her disposal.

The court at that juncture ordered the accused to be taken to the Psychiatric Hospital to be examined and the report be brought before the court.

The case continues.
