Brikama murder case progresses

The murder case involving one Lamin Njie, a resident of Brikama, continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanueln Nkea.

The case continued with the testimony of one Amie Jallow, a resident of Brikama, who adduced that on the said day, Amie Jeng, came and asked her about her money.

She gave Amie D200, remaining a balance of D100, she said, adding that the deceased, Fodiga, was sitting and also told Amie to pay him.

The accused, at that juncture, told the deceased to excuse himself from the problem of women, which angered the deceased and he insulted the accused.

Designated as the fourth prosecution witness (PW4), Ms Jallow testified that the accused paid back, and the deceased stone the accused with a charcoal pot containing fire, which get in contact with the accused on his chest.

The accused also pulled the deceased and gave him a blow on the chest and the deceased fell down and fainted.

She further testified that the deceased was taken to his place where he used to sell, while he was in coma and was laid down on the ground.

The landlord then called the police, while the deceased was taken to the hospital, she said, adding that the police came and took the photo of the deceased and later took the accused to the Brikama Police Station.

The deceased was later pronounced dead at the hospital, she said.

The case continues.
