Brikama A Team lifts GPL cricket title

Brikama Team A were last Saturday crowned champions of the Gambia Premier League (GPL) cricket tournament after beating Teachers XI in the final played at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.

The Gambia Ports Authority lifted the league title after beating Wallidan in the final.

As league winners Gambia Ports Authority received cash prize of D25,000 whilst runners-up Wallidan received D15,000 with a trophy.

The GPL trophy winners Brikama A Team went home with a cash prize of D15,000 whilst runners-up Teachers XI pocketed home a cash prize of D10,000 and a trophy.     

Meanwhile in the Banjul lower basic school girls round robbing cricket tournament played on Tuesday 14 March 2017 Albion Lower Basic School played Wesley Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul. Mauritanian Lower Basic School won by 94 Runs.

On Thursday 16 March 2017 St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School lost to St. Mary’s Lower Basic School by 9 wickets at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.

In the 2017 primary school league, on Monday 13 March 2017 Rev. J.C. Faye Memorial School defeated Wesley Lower Basic School by 5 runs at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.

Wesley Lower Basic School defeated St. Mary’s Lower Basic School by 23 runs at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.   

In the 2016/17 senior/upper basic school female league semi-final, on Tuesday 14 March 2017 Presentation Girls Vocational School played Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul. Presentation Girls Vocational School won by 43 runs.      

On Friday 17 March 2017 St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School defeated St. Augustine’s Upper Basic School by 5 runs at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.
