Ten senior secondary schools in the Western Region held their annual Trust Bank sponsored regional athletics heats in a grand style, at the Brikama Mini-stadium.
Kinder Dorf Bottrop Senior Secondary School emerged champions of this year's regional athletics heats after securing 424 points and qualified for 38 events for the finals of the National Inter-schools Athletics, set for next month at the Independence Stadium.
Second placed Sifoe Senior Secondary School with 286 points makes up for 10 events, while Saints Francis Senior Secondary School occupied the 3rd spot with 247 points, thus qualifying for 14 events.
Mahaad Senior Secondary School who came out 4th position with 231 points qualified for 6 events, while Fatim Senior Secondary School sits at 5th position with 224 points after making it to a total of 7 events.
Mindaw Senior Secondary School is 6th with 148 points and qualified for 4 events, Saint Vicencent and Maspoor Senior Secondary Schools occupied 7th spot, with 111 points each. Saint Viencent qualifies for 3 events, while Maspoor a single event.
Mayork Senior Secondary School came out 9th position with 91 points and qualifies for 3 events, while Brikama Methodist Senior Secondary School lies at the bottom of the table with 72 points with no qualifiers.
