Bombada United who missed out on promotion to the premier tiers after finishing third position in the division’s league table last season, were absolutely strong and absorbing in all departments in the field of play throughout the game, and launched numerous goal-scoring attempts in front of Lamin United’s goal-mouth, and managed to notch a single goal, which eventually proved to be the winner and also earned the Brikama-based outfit their first win in the new (GFF) second division league season.
Lamin United, on the other hand, regained promotion to the second tier. This was after finishing top spot in the 2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) third division triangular qualifiers last month, following their relegation to the third tier last season after their dismal performance in the second tier.
They were unable to contain Bombada United in the game, and created few goal-scoring opportunities; failing to utilize their limited goal-scoring opportunities. The game thus ended 1-0 in favour of Bombada United.
The victory has earned Bombada United the vital three points in one outing, while the defeat has left Lamin United at the bottom of the league table with zero points in one game, following their slender 1-0 defeat to Bombada United in the all-West Coast Region derby.
They will be hoping to snatch positive results in their upcoming fixtures to keep their hopes of staying in the second tier next season, as well as their ambition of gaining promotion to the top flight next season.
