Bolig
Partners were crowned champions of Abuko Noran Football Tournament after
beating Real De Abuko 4-2 in a post-match penalty shootout on Sunday. They
emerged victorious after a one all draw at the Abuko Primary School Football
Field.
The
well-attended final was graced by GFF secretary general, Abbas Bah, Sainey
Sissoho GFF women’s football coordinator, and the community of Abuko and its
surrounding villages.
Real
de Abuko opened the score through an own goal in the 51st minute of the game to
give them the lead.
Bolig Partners leveled the score through Demba
Gibba four minutes later from a spot kick after Patrick Mendy was brought down
inside the area by Ndeneh Bah. The game ended one all.
This
pushed the game into a penalty shootout, which ended 4-2 in favour of Bolig
Partners.
Bolig Partners went home with a giant trophy
and a cash prize of D4,000, whilst Real De Abuko pocketed D3,000 as the runners-up.
