Black Stars FC and Berewuleng FC have sailed to the semi-final in the ongoing World Trade Centre Sports Committee intermediate football tournament after winning their quarterfinal ties played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field at the weekend.
Black Stars booked their ticket to the semi-final following their slender 5-4 win over Central Gunjur FC in the third quarterfinal game on Saturday.
Berewuleng progressed to the semi-final following a 6-5 post-match penalty shootout win over Gunjur Community Football Academy in the fourth quarterfinal, after a 1-all draw in the regulation time on Sunday.
Black Stars and Berewuleng have now joined Ajax FC and Young Santos FC in the semi-final.
In the other encounters, Ajax FC beat Access Bank FC 1-0 in the first quarterfinal to advance to the semi-final, while Young Santos FC defeated Arrissia JJ FC on penalties in the second quarterfinal, after a goalless draw in the regulation time a fortnight ago.
