On
Friday, a high-powered delegation consisting the Minister of Works, Hon Bai
Lamin Jobe, the Gambian Ambassador to Senegal, Pa Momodou Njie, Dembo Bojang,
personal adviser to the President on Religious and Social matters, Musa
Drammeh, special adviser to the President on Investment and Private Sector
matters, Imam Momodou Lamin Touray, President of the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council,
and Imam Tafsir Gaye, representative of the Tijanniya TARAKIYA in The Gambia,
left the country for Senegal to extend condolences to the family of the late Tijanniya Kalifa General Sheikh
Ahmed Tijan Sy on behalf of President Barrow and the Gambian people.
The
sad news occurred on Wednesday 15 March at Tivaouane, Senegal.
The
late Kalifa General Sheikh Ahmed Tijan Sy was a prominent Islamic Sufi who has
worked tirelessly for the success of the Tijanniya brotherhood.
