Banjul
winless run continued in the ongoing Africell-sponsored super Nawettan
competition on Saturday following their goalless draw with Sanyang in a
well-contested group D fixture, played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in
Manjai Kunda.
The
city boys drew 1-1 with Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM) in their opening group
before drawing goalless with Gunjur in their second group match.
They
needed significant three points against Sanyang, who slipped to Brufut 1-0 in
their opening game to bolster their hopes of qualifying for the quarterfinal.
But
the tricky encounter ended goalless to share the points.
Banjul
now snatched 3 points after three group matches and Sanyang with 1 point in two
group games.
Meanwhile,
Gunjur drew 1-1 with Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM) at the Serrekunda West Mini
Stadium.
Both
sides have now secured 2 points after drawing their two opening group matches.
