Banjul
is eyeing for revenge against Gunjur in the 2019 Africell-sponsored super
Nawettan competition after being paired with the South boys in the same group
of the country’s potent community biggest football tournament.
The
city-boys slipped to Gunjur 2-1 in the 2016 super Nawettan final, played at the
Independence Stadium in Bakau. They will get themselves fit enough for revenge
after surrendering the country’s annual football fiesta title to Gunjur.
Banjul
won super Nawettan eight times and their last appearance in the final was in
2016, were eliminated in the semifinal last year by eventual champions
Serrekunda East.
Meanwhile,
Gunjur will be hoping to maintain their winning form against Banjul when they
clash with the city-boys in the group encounter next month.
