The launch of the album is sponsored and presented by Champion Sounds Productions.
Balla Ranks, Gambia’s finest Afro Manding star, in an interview with The Point Entertainment and Lifestyle at the weekend, said the album consists of 10 tracks mostly Afro Manding beats and some Afro Reggae touches.
The star musician said the album will be a mature and well-mastered piece featuring Tenza the boss lady from Jamaica and T Smallz Susso.
The January 24 launching at the country’s busiest spot for entertainment (Alliance Franco) and the Jan 25 show at the Brikama Mini Stadium will both be backed by live band performances, the melodious rapper told Point Entertainment.
Furthermore, he disclosed, his usual tour continues in February in other regions of the country to market and promote the album.
All is set for the launching, according to Balla Ranks, who said his radio interviews and official adverts will also start soon.
Asked about some of the songs people should expect in the album, the popular artistes said: “Cassamance Kello, My Homeland, Nkanu Nyo a love song and Sabari are all hit songs.”
He calls on all his fans to join him at the launching, saying they will be glad they did.
Who Is Balla Ranks?
A young Gambian artiste from a griot family, Balla Ranks did not actually do music when he was young but when he grew he realized music is his calling thus he has ever taken it as his career.
He released his first hit single in 2010 called ‘Alamuta’. His career in Gambian music was fast, as he efficiently released another called ‘Badiyaa’, which are all done with videos.
He has been invited to a lot of Gambian rhythms and line ups since his musical talent was discovered.
Most of his songs in recently produced line ups are national anthems to the people.
In 2011 he also released a very popular album titled ‘Emira’ a 9-track album, which has been very successful.
