Garba Jahumpa, who was Minister of Works, has been appointed Gambia’s
Ambassador to India.
He
replaced Dembo Badjie, who has been moved to China as ambassador, official
sources said.
Jahumpa
since the second Republic in 1994 has worked in various ministries.
He
was appointed twice Minister of Finance, Minister of Health and Social Welfare,
Minister of Trade, Industry and Employment, Minister of Information,
Communication and Technology, Minister of Works and Construction twice,
Minister of Foreign Affairs twice, first Gambian ambassador to Cuba for three
years, first Gambian ambassador to Venezuela for five years, and Gambian
ambassador to Spain for one year.
Jahumpa,
a career diplomat and administrator, has contributed to the socio-economic
development and to football in the country.
