Bakau and Banjul are household names in the Super Nawettan and are also archrivals.
Banjul made a flying start to the game and won the lion’s share of ball possession and created goal opportunities by the 20th minute of the game.
Banjul opened the score through striker Musa Bangura in the 7th minute of the game from a penalty spot after winger wizard Alagie Sarr was brought down inside Bakau’s eighteen-yard box by defender Modou Jallow to give his side the lead.
Bakau responded back and levelled the score through right-back Modou Jatta in the 36th minute of the game from a fine tap to cancel out Musa Bangura’s 7th minute strike to make it 1-all.
Ousman Manneh netted the second goal for Bakau 42nd minute of the game and Bakau went to break with a 2-1 advantage.
Upon resumption of the game, Bakau maintained their dominance in the game and caused serious assaults in front of Banjul’s goal mouth and their efforts paid dividends in the 54th and 65th minutes of the game when striker Ousman Manneh netted the third and fourth to complete his hat-trick.
Bakau will now meet with either Brikama or Brufut in the final set for Saturday 22 December 2012, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
At the time of going to press, Brikama were playing against Brufut in the second semi-final at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
