In-form Magadan have ended mighty Kachikally’s title ambition with a bitterly fought 1-nil victory in the weekend semifinal of the league championship in Bakau.
The Bakau outfit, who appear to be on their way to a league title success, celebrated a famous victory at the expense of Kachikally, whose constant good run of fine form came to a sad end as they bowed out of the league semifinal in disappointment.
The side, led by coach Sainey Jarju, went into the weekend’s contest on the back of some great results having also managed to progress to the quarterfinals of the knockout competition with the only aim of rounding-off the campaign.
However, they got stuck by this latest setback, which has placed them in a much complicated situation in their quest for their first competitive title in as many years.
Magadan, who are currently enjoying the best form of their life, advanced to the league semis thanks to a well fought 1-nil win against Linguere, who are among the best losers together with Farokoto, Tos Actief and Luniburg.
Magadan continued their journey for glory and on their way found themselves in a rather difficult battle against Kachikally who have proven to be one of the outstanding teams in the current Bakau Nawetan but Saturday’s result has proven otherwise much to the dissatisfaction of the coaching staff.
Magadan are therefore determined to replicate the same success against Kachikally when they meet in the knockout quarterfinals tomorrow.
