National
Assembly Member for Bakau Constituency, Hassan Touray has donated hand washing
tanks to the people of his constituency in order to reduce the risk of
coronavirus infection in the country.
Speaking
at the distribution over the weekend, Mr. Touray said the donation is part of
his social responsibility to give back to his people especially in this trying
time of coronavirus global pandemic.
He
advised the people of his constituency to follow the instructions given by
health officials including regular hand washing with soap and water or
alcohol-based hand sanitizer. He also urged them to avoid handshaking in order
to protect themselves from coronavirus.
Mr.
Touray thanked the Ministry of Health through the National Assembly
Select-Committee on Health for the initiative to strengthen the work of
lawmakers as the peoples’ representative.
Fabakary
Bojang, a native of Bakau, thanked Mr. Touray for the gesture, saying that is
what is expected from the peoples’ representatives. He promised that they will follow
the safety precautions of the Ministry of Health and World Health Organisation
(WHO) in order to save lives.
